Mistaking plastic bags for jellyfish—one of their main food sources—turtles often ingest these deadly items, leading to internal blockages, starvation, or even death. Many also become entangled in plastic debris like fishing nets and six-pack rings, which can cause severe injuries or prevent them from surfacing for air. With plastic now polluting even the most remote parts of the ocean, turtles are facing unprecedented threats at every stage of their life cycle.
