The Crisis We Can’t Ignore

  • 3.5 billion plastic bottle tops enter SA’s waste stream each year.
  • Only 10–15% are recycled.
  • Bottle caps are among the top 5 most dangerous plastics for marine life.
  • Over 50–60 million marine animals could die over the next five years from plastic entanglement and ingestion.

And yet — there’s hope.

What Is the CAPture Challenge?

The CAPture Challenge is a climate action initiative mobilising communities to collect HDPE #2 and PP #5 plastic bottle caps.

Our goals:

  • 5 million caps collected.
  • 20,000 kg responsibly recycled.
  • 32,500 kg CO₂ saved.
  • 1,000 Youth EcoChangeMakers empowered.
  • 100 Hearts sponsored.

Every cap counts. Every act matters.

How It Works

For Individuals, Schools, Companies, and Families:

  • Use a clean 2L milk bottle as your CAPture Container
  • Fill it with plastic caps (HDPE #2 and PP #5 only)
  • Weigh and label it
  • Contact us via WhatsApp or email to arrange delivery or collection
