Calling all #ChangeMakers
International Coastal Clean Up day has become a global movement with 700 000 volunteers in 120 countries doing their part to keep the coastlines clean.
As a part of this GLOBAL EVENT, we are asking all residents in the surrounds that frequent Sunset Beach to please join us this Saturday, 19 September, on Forata Drive at 10am, together with sponsors and event organisers Clean-C, ChangemakersHub, Rawson Properties and SBHOA.
The recent storms have washed up so much harmful waste for our ocean life – lets make sure our Sunset Beach strip is included on this special day!
Spring time is the best time to do a good clean up along our beaches. Let’s give this Saturday one to two hours of our changemaking to care for this much loved and beautiful coastline.
‘Every piece of plastic litter makes its way down our rivers and streams to the ocean, therefore I ask residents to please make a real effort to visit our beaches as the weather warms up and collect as much litter as they can while they are out. Every bit of help will make a difference,’ said Alderman Marian Nieuwoudt, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment.
Please help us participate in this wonderful initiative to keep our beaches and oceans clean.
All attendees please arrive wearing a mask and comply with all COVID-19 health and safety regulations and guidelines on the day. Bags, gloves and sanitisers will be provided.
