Local Youth appointed as EcoChangeMaker Advocates

On World Aquatic Animal Day, we take a moment to honour the diverse and vibrant marine life that inhabits our oceans. These ecosystems are not just stunningly beautiful; they play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of our planet. Unfortunately, the increasing presence of plastic waste threatens the health of aquatic animals and their habitats. At ChangeMakersHub, we are dedicated to supporting a plastic-free journey to safeguard our oceans and the creatures that call them home.

Plastic pollution poses a significant risk to marine life. Marine animals often mistake plastic for food, leading to severe health issues or even death. Moreover, plastic debris disrupts ecosystems and damages habitats, endangering the delicate balance of ocean life. By removing plastic from our environment and preventing it from entering our oceans, we can protect these invaluable ecosystems and the species that rely on them.

Celebrating World Aquatic Animal Day: A Call to Action for Our Oceans

PLASTIC IS DROWNING OUR OCEAN

One truckload of plastic enters our ocean every minute with a forecast of 29 million metric tons per year by 2040.

Marine Life in crisis with 50–60 million marine animal deaths projected over next five years due to entanglement & ingestion.

Long-Term Impact of plastic pollution into marine environments has profound and cascading effects to human health, economies & the climate.

One of the ways we’re driving positive change is through our EcoChangeMakers programme, which includes passionate youth advocates who are leading the charge toward a sustainable future. These young leaders are dedicated to making a difference and are committed to inspiring others to take action for the environment. Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, they exemplify what it means to be an #EcoChangeMaker.

Our youth advocates are taking steps big and small to support the plastic-free movement. They spread awareness about the impact of plastic pollution and engage their peers in discussions about sustainable practices. By leading through example, these young changemakers demonstrate that everyone has the power to make a difference.
